Rib Eyes in the Alaskan Sky by Josh Leach
There are some truly special waterfowl opportunities in Alaska. Sandhill cranes are one of them. Good numbers of cranes spend time in
Alaska, but cranes are among the wariest of waterfowl. They are also arguably the tastiest, making the challenging pursuit doubly satisfying.
In this piece, Josh Leach tells us how he has achieved success.
Twice as Nice by Casey Dinkel
Casey Dinkel and Patrick Hagens drew the coveted Chugach Range Dall Sheep permit (DS160) as a party in 2024. The Chugach Range in
southcentral Alaska has been known to produce big rams over the years, but it’s a tough hunt and success is not guaranteed. The odds of
both Patrick and Casey scoring a ram were marginal at best.

wild river. That’s 34 total hours of travel just to get into the hunting area, but the monumental effort was worth it. Seven hunters scored 10
caribou bulls and an interior grizzly on this hunt north of the Brooks Range. The extra effort to get as remote as possible paid off. Bigly.
Of Sons and Blacktails by George Krumm

especially strengthened by planning and doing hard things together. George
