Windproof and waterproof, the Kryptek Altitude Takur series is their answer to facing the harshest elements. Built with Schoeller’s cutting-edge fabric technology, the Takur series uses a three-layer, 100 percent waterproof laminate rated at 19,500mm H2O. This means you get maximum protection in wet conditions. In addition, they added Schoeller c-change technology, which reacts to your body’s activity levels to ensure a pleasant body climate. The technology in this series is able to react to changing temperatures and moisture levels by means of an advanced polymer fabric structure. Pack it in for extended stays and forget about Mother Nature.

The Arctic Ice extreme conditions winter boot features a Vibram Arctic Grip outsole, also with a full Vibram Icetrek base layer for two-pronged traction technology forcold, wet and slippery conditions. The Arctic Ice features 8mm of CR Flex Foam and a fleece lining wrapped in a soft rubber outer layer so feet stay warm and dry in the most extreme temperatures (down to-60F for the tall boot and -40F for the mid). When we are sitting still glassing, it’s easy for feet to get cold. We are thinking that this might be a good boot to try when glassing, and then switch to a lighter, less-insulated hiking boot for the stalk.
