|Henry Rifles Long Ranger|
This Best-in-Class lever-action rifle leaves many bolt actions in the dust. It’s a tight-shooter that offers far-reaching accuracy. With side ejection and a lightweight aerospace-alloy receiver, the top is drilled and tapped for scope mounts, and the bottom features a steel-bodied, flush-fit detachable magazine (5-round capacity in .223, 4-round in .243,.308, and 6.5 Creedmoor) with a steel floorplate and a blackened-steel release button on the right side of the receiver. All behind a 20” (or 22″ for the 6.5 Creedmoor) round and blued free-floated sporter barrel, and supported by a two-piece oil-finished American walnut stock with precise laser-cut checkering, sling swivel studs, and a solid black rubber recoil pad for both recoil control and non-slip anchoring on the shoulder for the rapid follow-up shots where lever actions excel. Like Henry’s other centerfires, the Long Ranger carries the in-hammer sliding transfer bar as a safety, instead of a manual safety button or slider that can be hard to operate with gloves.

|Kryptek Takur Jacket and Pants|
We tested several garments in the Altitude series in 2017 and were completely impressed. We wore the Takur Jacket and Pants on a wet moose hunt.. Both performed amazingly well to keep our tester dry and warm. Activities ranged from rigorous hiking to sitting still while calling and the garments functioned incredibly across the range of activities. They are made from Schoeller fabrics, a European company that makes high-performance technical fabrics used in the mountaineering community. Jacket and pants are waterproof, windproof, breathable, comfortable to wear, regulate temperature, are abrasion resistant, quiet and full of features. They showcase the Altitude pattern which is made for extreme conditions in the alpine and are printed in Austria using a “WetPrint” technology which enhances light absorption by the fabric and gives it a matte appearance. This set is our new favorite top layer.
